SEX TRAFFICKING
"Sex Trafficking" is a form of modern-day slavery in which individuals perform commercial sex through the use of force, fraud, and coercion. Minors under the age of 18 engaging in commercial sex are considered to be victims of human trafficking, regardless of the use of force, fraud, or coercion. Sex traffickers frequently target victims and then use violence, threats, lies, false promises, debt bondage, or other forms of control and manipulation to keep victims involved in the sex industry for their profit.

It’s not just one problem, it’s multiple and each layer has layers, and those have additional layers. When it comes to the exploitation of children and adults who are exploited, the problem is the underlying truth that we as a human race are all broken by sin. Humans inherently can’t help themselves to sin and are drawn to living in the dark. It takes a lot of intentional, direct, and active learning, engagement, teaching, mentoring, and challenging of the generations to move towards a life that is purposeful, positive, and good for humanity. If we are left without that guidance, mentoring, direction, etc. humans have hearts that wander and fall away from what’s good, beautiful, and truthful. Our hearts lean towards the lies, and we are unable to discern those. We know what’s good but act on the evil in our hearts. So when we say “THE PROBLEM”, it’s really that we are a sinful, broken human race.
It has been proven through research over and over again that we have a highly sexually motivated culture. We are also seeing more anxiety, depression, and mental health issues than ever before. Research shows that there is a grotesque amount of porn online that is free for everyone to see. And how we are educating our children today about sex has been distorted and manipulated. Not to mention, the cultural advancement of self-exploitation and self-abuse. Parents today are trying to maneuver how to raise their children in this digital world, and are recognizing that they are falling behind and need help. When we look deep into the hearts of our children, they are more confused than ever in their identity. We need to have more conversations about the problem so that we can walk toward the solution. These are crucial conversations to have and we are ready to have them. Are you?

- Over 80 percent of trafficked victims are groomed online
- In a study, they found that 70.9% of tweens and 87.9% of teens encountered nudity or content of a sexual nature.
- The average online predator can have up to 250 victims in their lifetime.
SEXUAL INTEGRITY & BODY IMAGE
- The average age of first sexual intercourse or sexual debut is 15.6 years old (Virginia.gov) and an estimated 55 percent of male and female teenagers have sexual intercourse before age 18 (CDC).
- Minors in the United States are being shown pornographic material in sex education where they are taught about such things as bondage, domination, anal sex, fisting, sexual orientation, masturbation, and sexual fantasies (CA Education Board Approves 'Pornographic' Sex Ed - California Globe).
